We will be making a piece of Nuvo Felt on the Embellisher and then doing some sewing machine stitching. Loan Embellisher machines will be available if booked in plenty of time, but you will need your own sewing machine.

We will start by creating exciting surfaces on the embellisher, and then shape them into useful objects using several techniques. Great fun! If you don't own an embellisher just let us know and we will find one for you to borrow.

Dyeing Complex Colours

Yes, blue and yellow can make green, but there can be so much more to it than that.

Learn a new colour mixing technique using Fibre Reactive Dyes (Procion Dyes are a member of this 'family'). Create beautiful repeatable complex colours to use in embroidery, patchwork or many other textile techniques, and gain a new understanding of colour along the way.

Missenden Abbey Course Update

Here is a list of the courses for 2008/09 to be held at Missenden Abbey. The Abbey is set in beautiful surroundings, if you haven't visited before you are in for a treat. Not only are the courses to a high standard, the accommodation is good, and so too the food.

13 - 15 June 2008 - The Embellisher: Let's Move On!

27 Jul - 2 Aug 2008 - A Week with the Embellisher. (It's the same title as last year, but a completely different course)

7 - 9 November 2008 - Textile Fun: Try and Embellisher for a Weekend.
Don't worry if you don't own an Embellisher, there will be plenty to borrow. Last year's course was a 'hoot'.

6 - 7 February 2009 - Dyeing Complex Colours
You will go away with a new understanding of colour for both embroidery or patchwork etc.

29 - 31 May 2009 - Buttons, Boxes and Bags
More Embellisher Fun. This course will introduce all sorts of ideas.
